RMN Battledome 3! Voting!
Round 2
Round 3
TLP & BudZ
Lee & Rollout
I'm basically voting for the Lee design. I like the idea of T.Hawk the Lumberjack just wrecking his way through the competition.
mahashanaH & EXO
With one fighter who can copy other styles and another that evolves during the course of the tournament, these two just get tougher and tougher with each battle. Early on, I wouldn't count on them winning everything, but by the end, their opponent basically has to fight everyone in the tournament (or at least their styles/powers) PLUS EXO's adaptability. From the earlier match, I do disagree that EXO could have just evolved around Rosey's power. As long as she still has eyes, there's a chance she'd fall all over herself as soon as he pouted at her.
Recused/Shades & Rosey
If anyone thinks Rosey's fans could be BRIBED not to stand with him, they clearly don't understand just how dedicated and devoted they are. Also, I never took the sparkles ability to be pheromone based, just that he was *that* damn attractive to underage girls (others too).
Dimae & Bli Bli
I don't give a lot of credit to dimensional torso chick and the cat thing, but I'm strictly voting against goatseboy. One, diarrhea isn't the most effective weapon (although I believe the Sollubi in a couple of Burroughs books put it to good use), and two - I don't think the ability to engulf an opponent in ones anus is that handy of a skill. It would be very slow, I would think, and unless the enemy was simply transfixed by the sight of it, (staring into the gaping orifice, perhaps waiting to see if it will subdivide) it seems entirely unlikely to hit.

Most Creative-Ambiguous State of Time
I agree that a lot more creativity seemed to go into the world building aspect of this than the actual story, but I still really enjoyed it.
Most Comedic-Reginald the Icthyophobe
Its humor isn't as forced as some of the other entries, which makes it funnier by default. Before reading "Ambiguous State of Mind" I was ready to give this one Most Creative as well. It almost feels like the sort of game Tim Schafer might come up with, which is very high praise.
Best (One I liked the Best) - Beyond Familiar Shores
This is a no-brainer for me. I like the early colonization/pre-industrial bent, and I am an absolute sucker for anything remotely Lovecraftian/Cthonic in nature. The mere mention of Deep Ones cemented its place in my voting results.
Honorable Mention - Pinwheel
Pinwheel's charming little tale almost unseated Beyond Familiar Shores as my favorite entry, but in the end it felt a bit too "Disney 2.0" for me.
Best Romance - NULL
Unfortunately, I don't have a selection for Best Romance as I'm not sure this was even attempted. The Sewale & Malay one had promise, but took it in the wrong direction. I'm not saying it should have been a Leo & Leah rehash where it is all about getting the girl back, but maybe the implied relationship could have grown in the story instead of being presupposed. With the death of Sewale promised at the ending, this could have gone into some good romantic tragedy territory.
Not sure if the "Citi-bank" and "Step-on-me" story was intended to be some "dark" post-Twilight "I love you because you'll kill me" attempt at romance, or just a stab at Stockholm Syndrome:The RPG.

All Skills I Create Always Miss; Any Idea Why?
Very sleep deprived as I type this, so bare with me...
Check the Attribute used for the skill against the Resistances for the target.
If a hero or monster has A type resistance to the Sword Attribute, it might mean they take 150% damage. If they have E, it could be set to 0%.
If the character completely resists the skill, it will not hit them.

Dragons Dogma, anyone heard about this RPG from Capcom?
I had the same experience with the Magic Archer and changed out of it in a hurry. To lock on to a Cyclops eye without switching to its shoulder or chest, I had to let the thing get within ten feet. I was wondering if the damage output would be better coming from the Mage - Sorcerer - Magic Archer path.
I tried it out after Strider - Assassin - Ranger and just figured my damage output was low because I hadn't taken any vocations that pumped up the Magic Attack stat.
Magic Archers are great against Harpy infested areas though. Having the assassin (?) effect that increases damage to enemies not in their fighting stance seems to help damage output when you can catch the enemy unaware, but then you're back to bug bites against whatever the opening salvo didn't kill.
The assassin vocation is really versatile, and a lot of fun to use, but it is probably a good idea to have the Strider's Leg Strength effect to balance out the extra weight you'll get from stocking a full kit of Daggers, Shortbow, Shield, and Sword.

Speaking of aliens, I watched Prometheus last night on an I-max 3d screen.
I enjoyed the movie, but I have to say it feels like the biggest series of teases I've ever watched put to film. It is no secret that it is an Alien prequel, of a sort, but the raw amount of call backs and allusions starts to distract from the story it is (I think) trying to tell. At one point there is even a structure, that, when viewed from a certain angle, makes up the silhouette of the Alien 3 logo (roughly, but it is there).
I think it actually hurts the movie a little. Instead of just going along with it, I kept waiting for the reveal. All the little nods and callbacks kept pulling me out of the story and messed with suspension of disbelief. I found myself thinking "How did that grow to that size without anything to consume for nutrition?" or "What is she going to eat?"... then again, maybe I shouldn't watch movies on an empty stomach.
There were a couple of scenes that felt very forced. It seemed like the script writer forgot about a couple of things, and then just had to paint them out in a hurry when they reappeared. Some of them have a purpose -
Spoiler!
While others just seem to be house cleaning -
Spoiler.
This last one isn't a rush job, but and end scene spoiler and some attached conjecture-

David infecting Halloway. He is trying to test what happens when a human is exposed to the black fluid, all in an effort to see if the environment will be safe for Weyland. I would say infecting Halloway was just a case of "You don't like me, well, fuck you too," on account of Halloway seeming to be the only member of the crew that didn't like David, but the thing about David watching Shaw's dreams suggests that he has an unhealthy attachment to her and saw Halloway as a rival.
While others just seem to be house cleaning -
Spoiler.
The mutated crewman returning and killing several crew members off in one scene. This creates more problems than it solves though. The proto-facehugger space cobra penises turn people into contortionist rage zombies? Sure. Lets just flesh the menagerie out as much as possible so we can have five monsters in one movie, six if you count David's actions for 9/10ths of the film. To me, it muddies the film up and obscures some of the "higher" ideas going on in the background.

I liked the way the bioweapon evolved so that we get to see something very Alien-like by the end. If the Aliens we're used to seeing are a virus, we got to see the birth of a variant strain. By passing the contagion between human and engineer hosts, it evolves to become a more perfect form. This ties in with later elements in the series, like the alterations that Resurrection brought about in the Queen, as well as the Hybrid.
It makes me wonder about the environment that spawned the "classic" alien strain. Here, the "facehugger" version grows to monstrous size to combat the over-sized engineer, despite being "born" of human hosts. What was the environment like that caused the "classic" strain to evolve as smaller stealth-based predators?
I also wonder if any attempt will be made to ascribe the creation or alteration of the Yautja (Predators) to the Engineers as well, as another failed experiment perhaps. If they all have a similar dna profile, it would explain why the Xenomorphs are able to interface with their biology so well.

What Videogames Are You Playing Right Now?
Still playing Dragon's Dogma, or I will be once I get enough free time. I'm sort of kicking myself for waiting so long to see the Duke. The guy who lets you through warns you it will end all other quests, so I thought I had to finish all the Kill X Things or Find X things before progressing if I didn't want to miss out on the gold and xp. Well, visiting the Duke, apparently, only ends the other quests from the guy who gets you through the gate and has no effect on the rest of your errands, so go for it as soon as possible to open up more of the world!

Im gonna be honest... im probably not gonna read every single story thats up there
You probably shouldn't vote then? Even though I (probably) already have my picks for Most Creative, Most humorous, and Best, I'm not going to make a vote until I've taken the time to read all of them through.
